DENTAL IMPLANTS IN NORTH MIAMI BEACH FL

Are you looking for information about dental implants in North Miami Beach, FL? Dental implants are becoming an increasingly popular method for replacing missing teeth. In this procedure, titanium supports are surgically fused with your jawbone, and act as an anchor for naturally looking false teeth. Dental implants are not only used for individual tooth replacement but can also be used when replacing multiple teeth as an alternative to dentures.

Advantages of dental implants
Implants are very natural looking, and they blend seamlessly with your smile
The biocompatibility of titanium allows the implant to be thoroughly secured to your jaw
Dental implants can last a lifetime if properly taken care of
Improved chewing and speech due to the strength of the implant
Implants are resilient, and they will not show signs of wear overtime

Types of implants
There are a few different types of dental implants. Dr. Azar will consult with you to determine which type of implant would best suit your needs. The most common types of dental implants are endosteal and subperiosteal.

Endosteal - inserted directly into the jawbone, these are the most common type of dental implants. These are made with titanium screws that fuse to the jawbone overtime. A custom crown is attached to the titanium screw to give you the appearance of a brand new smile.

Subperiosteal - this type of implant is inserted under the gumline but above the jawbone. This is a preferable choice for patients who may not have enough jawbone to support an endosteal implant.

If a patient does not have enough jawbone to support an implant, they could also get a jaw augmentation surgery to encourage bone growth. This would be a simple procedure of bone grafting to cause the rejuvenation of jawbone overtime. If there is nothing to support, like if you lost a tooth, then bone will recede. Jaw augmentation gives patients to restore their facial structure back to a healthy state.

The Procedure
Dental implants will require several trips to your North Miami Beach dentist. First, you will come in for a consultation to determine if dental implants are right for you. The procedure will consist of your dentist will create a space in your gum line to insert the titanium screw. Sedation may be used if your dentist deems necessary. This will need time to heal, so a temporary crown may be provided. You will come back in a few weeks later after the screw has fully fused to the jaw. That is when the custom crown will be attached and the implant will be completed.
