PDO Threads

Family, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is proud to offer PDO Thread Lifts for patients. This treatment utilizes threads consisting of polydioxanone (PDO) to lift and tighten skin tissue that has sagged over time. This collagen stimulation produces cellular renewal which in turn results in improved elasticity, fine lines and skin texture. During the procedure, fat tissue contracts which then produces a facial slimming and skin tightening effect.

 

This minimally invasive procedure usually takes about 15-30 minutes. Procedure time may vary based on the area being treated. PDO threads are inserted into layers of the skin with cannulas (sharp or blunt tip needles) after the area has been numbed and local anesthesia has been infused. After insertion, the threads serve as an anchor to the skin and lift it upward. Once lifted, excess threads are cut off.
